Wearing a mask is considered to be the most fundamental defence in protecting yourself from COVID-19. A practice that is now followed by people around the world, enforced by governments in some parts of the globe, and enforceable under law, wearing a mask also involves caring for it properly if you want it to protect you from the disease.

Depending on the type of mask you wear, the guidelines for taking care of it will differ. A dirty mask could only increase the possibility of infection, and The World Health Organization has come up with ways to keep your mask clean.
